Those days when we do not have enough time to cook, but we would like to eat something delicious on a busy day, many times we are going to the gastrobar called BORS.
The place is located pretty close to Kitchen Pixie, they are in the very famous and fancy Kazinczy street. As the soups are very popular in Hungary, they have wide range of them (savory and sweets as well) and every day something different. Over the soups you can have tasty grilled sandwiches, healthy salads, vegetarian stews, pastas and desserts as well. Among the sandwiches my personel favourite is the “French Lady” with chicken, cheese and on the top red onion chutney with raspberry. Yummie!!:) If you are “brave” enough choose the sandwiches with pork brain (called “Brain dead”) or with tripe! The guys in BORS often rethink the Hungarian classics so if you are lucky you can even taste “Chicken paprika” as soup. In Kitcen Pixie we all like different dishes Márti’s favourites are the different vegetable cream soups. We recommend it by heart to everybody who comes to Budapest as we have our own experiences! Even if you just come for few days, take a break during your sightseeing tour and enjoy the specialties of BORS. Furthermore if you are with your dog it is not a problem, feel free to enter. If you are going there around lunch time, be patient as the place is full and the end of the cue is just outside on the street, but for sure you won’t be disappointed with the food!:)
