When we started Kitchen Pixie, our target was to let our guests learn about Hungarian food, customs, our life and the famous Hungarian hospitality. We want to provide our guests with a memorable experience. Earlier we had never thought that these programs would give us very much as well. Every market tour, cooking, dining is different and all have an unforgettable moment: we laugh a lot, we get to know different countries and we meet interesting people, we get a lot of positive energy and invitation into their homes. The best moment comes when at the end of the program we become friends and we decide to keep in touch in the future.

“My niece talked me into this Cooking Class and it was one of my best memories of Budapest. Learning how to make the original dishes of Hungary and tasting homemade Hungarian Brandy and soft drinks while sampling lite snacks was really fun. Marti and Gabor are interesting friends who are kind enough to share stories, recipes, laughter and food with you like old friends. What a treat! If you are in Budapest and want cooking lessons, what an excellent cook to make you a home cooked meal, or would like to wine taste Hungarian wines. I highly recommend seeing if the Kitchen Pixie!” – Sandra from Los Osos, US
“As a farewell dinner, our group of 12 women attended a private dining experience with Marti and Gabor in Budapest. From the moment we entered the building we knew we were in for a treat – Gabor gave us a bit of history and took us to their lovely flat. From the evening was filled with tasty refreshments of fruit brandy, home made sparkling soda and wonderful Hungarian wines. The real treat came with the delicious foods prepared by Marti. We enjoyed tasty Hungarian bites as starters and followed with wonderful Goulash Soup, Chicken paprikash with dumplings (partly prepared by some of the group) and Gerbeaud layer cake. Served at a beautifully set dining room table and served family style, the food was enjoyed by everyone. No one went home hungry that evening. As a bonus both Marti and Gabor shared lots of their personal experiences with us. This was a delightful evening for everyone in the group and was definitely a highlight of the trip.” – Bev from Canada
“Marti picked us up from our hotel and took us to the Kitchen Pixie’s kitchen. We started off with some homemade Hungarian Brandy and elderberry soda then we got busy! Marti had us chopping up veggies for the soup and making dough for the cake. It was so much fun! Halfway through, she made some finger food of bread, sausage, salami, and sweet pepper. All yummy. We finished the goulash, the pancakes and chicken. The cake was done baking so we sat down to a wonderful Hungarian meal that we helped make! Marti was a patient instructor and a gracious hostess. I would recommend the Kitchen Pixies to anyone looking for a unique and fun experience in Budapest.” – Kim and Jeff from Seattle, US
