Strudel Making Class

Hand-Stretched Strudel – Where the Magic Begins

Our grandmothers worked true culinary miracles in the kitchen, transforming just five simple ingredients into something truly special: hand-stretched strudel. There’s hardly anyone who isn’t curious about the secret behind this delicate pastry.

Are you one of them? Would you love to master the art of traditional Hungarian strudel? From kneading and stretching the dough to preparing delicious sweet or savoury fillings — every step is hands-on, with a warm atmosphere, a glass of good Hungarian wine, and light snacks to make this culinary experience complete.

Hand-stretched strudel was once reserved for holidays and special family celebrations. I’m lucky to have grown up watching my grandmother and mother work side by side in perfect harmony, making enough strudel to feed a whole village. I still remember the moment I was first invited to join them — I was sixteen, my hands were trembling, and I touched that silky dough with the utmost care. Little by little, I grew confident, and for over ten years now, I’ve been sharing this magic with guests from all over the world.

Good strudel dough should be thin, soft, and elastic, perfectly balanced with just the right amount of filling — not too much, not too little. In this hands-on workshop, you won’t make just one strudel, but two, with different delicious fillings.

Come and join this 100% practical, authentic culinary experience and discover the secrets of dough stretching. During the strudel making, we share plenty of insights about this iconic Hungarian dessert — the fillings, ingredients, customs, and stories behind it.

And of course, at the end of the workshop, you’ll taste the reward for your efforts: enjoy your freshly baked homemade strudel with a glass of excellent Hungarian wine.
